2012 Atlas Award honoring the U.S. Troops of Iraq and Afghanistan
February 06, 2012

The World Affairs Council is honored to present its 2012 Atlas Award to the U.S. Troops and Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan

United in support...

We invite you to stand with the community as the World Affairs Council presents its 2012 Atlas Award in recognition of, and gratitude to, U.S. troops and veterans of service in Iraq and Afghanistan. This special homecoming event will also welcome our servicemen and women back from the final days of the Iraq War. Local troops and their families are invited to be our guests as we pay tribute to thosewilling to give "the last, full measure of devotion” on our nation’s behalf.

...and acknowledging sacrifice

This unique event will acknowledge, in a meaningful way, the sacrifices made by the troops and their families. To this end, your generosity will be reflected in a gift to the Wall Street Warfighters Foundation, whose mission is to identify, develop, and place service-disabled veterans in careers in the financial services industry. The Wounded Warrior Project and other select charitable organizations that focus on post-service training and support for returning military personnel will be showcased at the event.

Frank Hermance

The Council’s civilian honoree is Frank S. Hermance, chairman and CEO of AMETEK and vice chairman of the World Affairs Council. Under his leadership, AMETEK has served the U.S. military and its global allies by providing electronic instruments and systems for aircraft, spacecraft, and naval vessels and developing radiation detection systems used by Homeland Security and the Department of Defense.
