Current Full-time Employment Openings

Membership Coordinator

This full-time position will serve as support staff for the Membership and Development Department. Duties include basic office support functions, including maintaining a gifts database and membership fulfillment. This position requires an individual who is flexible, organized and detail oriented who is up to the challenge of a complex database.

Qualifications:

  • Raiser's Edge 7 preferred.
  • Database proficiency required.
  • Critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry and analysis.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Capacity to work well as a team member and to work independently.
  • Ability to master complex policies and procedures for database management ability to deal with confidential data.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of grammar and business correspondence.
  • Telephone and customer service skills.
  • Internet skills, including donor research.
  • Availability to staff programs during evening hours.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dues letters, gift acknowledgement letters, membership cards and fulfillment materials to donors and members.
  • Serve as part of member and donor service team, by serving as the contact for Development/Membership telephone/e-mail and responding to member questions and requests.
  • Produce mail merges for donor correspondence and solicitations.
  • Entering all other gift information into the database.
  • Miscellaneous copying and filing.

Internships

The Council seeks interns for spring, summer, and fall semesters. Positions are unpaid and are open to college undergraduates and recent graduates with a strong interest in international affairs. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, possess strong computer skills, the ability to work independently as well as in a team, a good command of English, and strong writing skills. We seek a commitment of at least 8-10 hours per week (1 full day or two half-days preferred). Interns are invited to attend evening speaker events. College credit can be arranged. Transportation expenses provided.

Volunteer

The Council frequently uses volunteer staff for large events such as conferences, "blockbuster" speaker programs, etc. Most programs are held mid-day or in the early evening. If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail us.
