| Under the auspices of the National Consortium for Teaching about Asia, the Council will again offer a 30-hour seminar on East Asian history, geography, literature and culture with teaching colleagues and Asia specialists. Sessions will be adapted to the needs and curriculum of participating teachers and are designed to promote long-term engagement in Asian studies. The seminar will run from January to May 2008 and will include five late-afternoon sessions at the Council and three full-day programs at the University Museum, the Philadelphia Mesuem of Art, and the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia.
Teachers will receive professional stipends upon completion of the seminar and the teaching implementation plan. There will be a generous donation of exemplary materials on Asia for the participant's school. Contact the Council for details.
