A visit from Ambassador Shirin Tahir-Kheli, Special Assistant to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for Women's Empowerment (worldwide), kicked off the Council's new Global Girls Lead! program, a special initiative for high school girls, made possible by a generous gift from Jayne and Walter Garrison. We are delighted to be organizing this exciting initiative in cooperation with the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania to extend our reach to an entire new audience of potential leaders. An integral part of this leadership initiative is forging a connection with area women leaders to whom we will look for advice and guidance as we develop a program to instill life-long leadership skills in young women.
